Steel plates In order to absorb the enormous forces of the shrouds and to redistribute them to the keel, appropriately sized new steel parts - chain plate reinforcements - are integrated into the hull section. The chain plates will be screwed onto the plates later. This zinc-coated steel plate is 2,96 m (10 ft) long, 50 cm (20 inches) high (tapered to 25 cm - 10 inches at the end), 5 mm thick and weighs over 40 kg (90 pounds). |

Old parts The original plates had to be replaced due to corrosion. |

Bracing Six vertical and two diagonal braces on either side will redistribute the forces resting on the steel plates, which come from the chain plates, to both sides of the keel. |

Sheen The lower planks on the inside of the yacht have also already been varnished to protect the wood. |
