Camber of beam

View of the stern

Stern

Here in the stern section you can see nicely how the deck beams fitted athwart ship are resting on the beam clamp. The king plank visible mid ship (the middle plank in the deck) is, in turn, mounted onto the deck beam and stretches to the transom astern.

Round of deck

In this side view of the stern from starboad side, you can see the slightly positive camber of beam or round of deck - the upward curvature of the deck.
On the one hand a positive round of deck facilitates the drainage of water, and on the other hand it increases the steadfastness of the crew when the yacht is heeling.

Deck beams in the bow

Also here in the bow section the slightly positive curved new deck beams rest on the beam clamp.
The beam clamp is a solid beam that stretches from the bow to the stern along the hull wall parallel to the top edge of the hull.
