The keel base has to be tilted on its side in order to fit the keel.

Because the ballast keel of 14.3 tons is too heavy, the wood keel base had to be fitted in an elevated position. The keel base is also so heavy that we could only manage to do this safely using a hoist.

Fits

The shape fits exactly. We then marked out the measurements for the bolts and following this, the ballast keel was removed again.
