Eye bolt nuts The 21 metre (69 ft) long and 26 ton heavy Anitra can be easily hung later by a crane from two such eye bolt nuts. The owners requested this special construction so as to avoid the carrying strap during crane operations, which can be a huge strain on the wooden hull. The eye bolt nuts are made of solid bronze and have a height of 250 mm (10 inches) and a diameter of 170 mm (6 inches). |

Square nuts These "small" square nuts have a height of 50 mm (2 inches) and an outer diameter of 90 mm (3.5 inches). The thread has an inner diameter of 42 mm (1.7 inches). The size of the wood, which is 2 cm (almost 1 inch) thick, serves as a comparison. Tightening such large nuts requires special tools and considerable skill. |
