Time-consuming replacement

Slowly replacing the old frames

Here you can see an old frame in front of a new one.
Replacing each old frame was especially time-consuming in the keel section.

Difference

Here you can see the progress being made in replacing the old frames with new ones.

Stern section

In this photo you can see that the right side of the new frame has only been screwed together. While the left side could already be riveted together outside the hull, the right half of this web frame must be riveted together inside the hull.

Diagonal

This diagonal support structure could only be replaced by sawing through all the hull planks.
It is made of 60 x 5 mm flat band.
There are several diagonal support structures on the Anitra. This one here absorbs the forces of the shrouds through the chain plates and redistributes them to the keel section.
