JavaScript

Permanently increasing demands on the interactivity, comfort, flexibility and content experience-factor of Internet pages, actually benefit you in your daily use of them. The Internet website of Martin-Yachts, like the majority of providers, wants to offer you this commercially available standard in the Internet. That requires the use of JavaScript, a programming language, which not only offers the advantages mentioned above, but there are also possible risks that need to be considered.

Fundamentally, we guarantee that the JavaScript programmed by us and used in our Internet pages poses no dangers to your personal computer or your data.

In theory, you could indeed protect yourself against these potential dangers in the Internet, by deactivating the JavaScript function in your browser. In this case, however, a comfortable, rapid navigation, and, in some cases, even the viewing of many Internet pages would no longer be possible for you.

As a result, we recommend that you do protect yourself against the dangers of the Internet, by taking reasonable protective measures of your own:

  • We suggest using an anti-virus program with a protective function against the improper use of JavaScript. We recommend continually updated virus scanners that examine the JavaScript program code for any possible dangers in real time (while an Internet page is being loaded).
  • Suitable up-to-date tools for analysing JavaScript.
  • A personal Firewall. In this case, a software that is installed in your own personal computer and represents a protective mechanism against potential dangers from the Internet.
  • Furthermore, we advise you to always use current versions of modern browsers.

ActiveX

We do not use any ActiveX in our Internet website.

If you as a user, however, personally change the standard configurations for ActiveX or Scripting in the options menu of your browser, it can, under certain circumstances, result in a misleading message in some browsers. Due to a wrong implementation in some browsers (among others, some versions of the Internet-Explorer), while looking at PDFs, flash or other secure multimedia files with Plugins, an incorrect message may appear, that you are downloading script elements or ActiveX. You can click on the OK button to fade out the message. However, this message can occur repeatedly, depending on the browser configuartions and the Internet page.

Flash

We use the modern and secure Flash technology, for ergonomic and design reasons, to create specific types of content.

PDF

We use the modern and secure PDF technology in some pages, to enable downloading various items and route maps, which you can then print immediately with the free software from Adobe.
